We recently undertook some work for a Construction company specialising in Petrol Station renovations. Their project involved the installation of Brand-new EV charging points at a service station in Romford.
However, a row of Leyland Cypress trees blocked the way. Despite their poor condition and their imposing presence in the urban landscape, these trees were under a Tree Protection Order (TPO). Therefore, council approval needed to be obtained prior to the works taking place.
Our task spanned 5 days and included felling the Leyland Cypress trees to make way for the construction.
We used our specialist stump grinding machinery to grind down the stumps, to a depth of 200mm below the current ground level. The void left by the stumps were back filled with a mixture of soil and wood grindings and left to settle.
As always, the resulting tree debris was cleared from site and transported back to our recycling depot. 100% of all our wood waste is recycled into biofuel — just one of the many ways we demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability
After removing the Leyland Cypress trees protected by the TPO, the construction company plans to replant new trees once the project is finished.
