With the recent spate of bad weather hitting us just after the festive period, in the form of Storm Henk, it was the south of the UK that was the worst affected. In addition to widespread travel disruption and power cuts, numerous trees were uprooted or damaged, posing safety risks and causing obstructions to playgrounds, workspaces, and roads.
Despite a busy workload and jobs already booked into the first week of the new year, we always strive to go out of our way to help in situations where safety is at risk in the local community.
We were approached by Brent Council to help to remove several trees that had fallen in parks, one blocking a public car park, and another over a children’s playground.
Our Team went out last week to dismantle and remove the fallen trees. One tree required stump removal, as it would have caused a trip hazard.
We used specialist stump grinding machinery to grind down the stump. Once sufficiently ground down, our team excavated the stump. The hole left by the tree was filled with a mix of soil and wood grindings.
As always, the remains of the stump and the fallen trees were cleared from site and brought back to our yard. 100% of all our wood waste is recycled into biofuel.
Our Compliance Manager Richard, commented: “When safety in the community is at risk, we always go out of the way to help, and look to re-allocate resources to get the job done as quickly and safely as possible, without disappointing our other clients.”
