Artemis Tree Services celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and with that in mind we’re looking at the success story of one of our longest serving members of the team.
Aaron Walsh began his climbing career in 2000 as a trainee climber and gained his basic qualifications through numerous other tree companies.
Aaron then joined Artemis in early 2009 and started as a lead climber and Team Leader. Over the last 9 years, he has grown with the company into his current role of Contracts Manager.
Team Leader role
As Team Leader, Aaron managed jobs from start to finish and trained less experienced staff up to Artemis’ industry-leading high standards. Aaron’s excellent customer services skills, problem solving ability, inspirational leadership and enthusiasm for tree work meant he was soon promoted to become Contracts Manager.
Contracts Manager role
As Contracts Manager, Aaron has won many large projects, including the prestigious BBC Television Centre re-generation programme. It is still our largest project to date! Aaron also played a significant role in the process of getting Artemis to become an ARB Approved Contractor.
After passing his IOSH Health and Safety course and professional Tree Inspection course in 2014, Aaron has been influential in keeping Artemis up to date with all new regulations and ultimately keeping our workforce safe in a potentially dangerous work environment.
In his current role, Aaron manages and oversees all work across the company, is responsible for quality control and staff training programmes, and was instrumental in the recent integration of new company systems. He continues to build on existing client relationships as well as seeking out new and exciting business opportunities. Outside of his busy schedule, he still finds time to attend Arboricultural Association working groups on a quarterly basis to keep up to date with the latest industry developments.
Aaron on Artemis…
As an ambitious, dedicated employee, Aaron is looking forward to future opportunities with the company, saying:
“We are always looking at ways to improve and develop, and I have lots of ideas on how to take the company forward into the next stage. So much has changed within the industry since I first got involved in tree work – health and safety regulations are much more stringent to ensure longevity of our staff and we’re using more technology in this digital age to streamline our services. While environmental issues are increasingly coming to the forefront, as a company we recognise our responsibility and are committed to maintaining a high standard in all parts of our operations.
Let’s see what new developments the next 10 years brings!”
