Grow a Tree in ’23 this National Tree Week!

This week Artemis are supporting National Tree Week, brought to you by The Tree Council and partners. The week brings together the conservation sector, volunteers and tree-lovers to mark the start of the annual tree planting season by planting thousands of trees and hedgerows and celebrating these magnificent mainstays of our landscapes.

This year’s National Tree Week (November 25 – December 3) is extra special as it marks the 50th anniversary of the famous ‘Plant a Tree in 73’ campaign – from which The Tree Council was born!

To pay tribute to those foundations, and echo the well-loved slogan half a century later, The Tree Council wants as many people as possible to have the opportunity to Grow a Tree in 23 – either by participating in an organised tree planting event, or by hosting their own National Tree Week (NTW) Tree Party!

There are tree planting events big and small taking place all over the country during NTW – all you need to join in is enthusiasm, warm clothing, and a love for creating new life from the soil.

The Tree Council has created lots of resources, from activities for little ones; to advice on choosing the ‘right tree for the right place’; craft ideas to turn your home into a temple for trees; tree health tips to help you assess the wellbeing of nearby specimens; tree species leaf, flower and seed identification postcards, and much, much more.

The Tree Council CEO, Sara Lom said: “We are delighted to be celebrating National Tree Week, which provides a fantastic opportunity for all of us to come together for the love of trees and to encourage everyone not only to plant a tree but also to care for it so it will grow to maturity.

“Trees and hedgerows help us tackle climate change, provide homes for wildlife, improve our health and so much more. We need to help them back and by getting involved, you’ll be part of growing a greener, tree-filled future for all of us.

I found the Artemis team that came to prune Portuguese Laurels back all friendly, professional and made sure that I was satisfied with the job and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left.... What a find, a totally professional experience from start to finish. The level of service is second to none. The survey outlined what would be required, advised on any contact for consent from neighbours if required and what the short and long term expectations would be. The team that undertook the extreme pruning of fir trees on the boundary of my property were polite, engaging, professional and made sure I was happy with the end result. Never having had to engage a tree services before I had no idea of pricing and was more than surprised at the value for money. Meticulously clearing up afterwards and removing all debris the same day. Plus points, everything, negative points, none. I would most highly recommend.

This is the first time i have used any Tree service , and Artemis were totally brilliant . I needed some fir trees trimmed back as they were overgrowing the border fence . From the very first contact right through to the completion of works their whole team were always prompt and on time , professional , knowledgeable and efficient . There was regular communication and reminders leading up to the booked appointment . During the initial survey and appointment everything was explained and my inquisitive questions engaged and answered. They completed the work and cleared up everything . Great service and would definitely use them again .

Artemis took down two lime trees who's roots had damaged the garage floor and were an inch away from the foundations of the house . The trees were in a very awkward place to get to but this didn't see... Artemis took down two lime trees who's roots had damaged the garage floor and were an inch away from the foundations of the house . The team were extremely well equipped , and they worked together like a well oiled machine. We were delighted with their work, tidiness and very pleasant manner. And it was at a fair price.
