Safety is of course a top priority for tree surgeons, and they’ll often wear specialised uniforms and equipment to protect themselves on the job. This includes safety hats to protect against falling branches and debris, with ear-guards to protect hearing from the machinery noise. Safety boots with reinforced toes protect feet from heavy equipment and saws. Chainsaw trousers are crucial to prevent any serious damage if a saw slips and high-vis tops ensure arborists are easy to see. Ropes and harnesses are essential for securing the tree surgeons working at heights and lowering branches safely to the ground.
